How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

(dy, from above) Thanks for the tip, Don. Don't know how your figure some of that stuff out. I think ST has great promise. See http://vimeo.com/1725889 for excellent example. I agree that ST works quite different than a lot of us are probably used to --- that's not necessarily a bad thing. I...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

I'm a little reluctant to enumerate issues I've had or seen. I've kind of put ST on the backburner as I can't really be productive with it and have been monitoring the UGS group to revisit the pgm after there's been an update an hopefully cleaned things up. I think I like ST, certainly its...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

bc, I searched through the release notes for the details you spoke of. The closest I could find was That's not exactly what I would consider being forthcoming (or detailed, for that matter). Is there another document you're referring to? I've been using ST for 2 weeks and still seem to keep...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

I think you can add to list of excluded functions in ST that there's no Divide Part and you can't really edit a surface outline created by a curve sketch (ie. revolve, sweep, etc.). Dan mentioned on the UGS forum that this is coming. I have, however, been able to edit a model created by a...

    Standard Parts Library...

Yes. Config Wizard seems to indicated everything correctly. It indicates StandardParts100.mdb as the database file location. Parts Folder box indicates 3d-Standard_Parts_V8.50, which I believe is correct. I'm a single license so Store Parts on File System is checked. Working Folder Location...

    Standard Parts Library...

I'm having a similar issue with Standard Parts and ST. I can't seem to properly register the new database. In Part Administrator/Register the "Recommended" option shows no entry in the Standard Parts Installation Database box. Attempting to point to a new .ddb file indicates that no .ddb files...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

Thanks Don. Nice tip! I guess I never thought about using the draft function to de-draft a draft! At that point it looks like you're stuck with the draft as it's apparently intimately connected to the protrusion. Oh well. ST is almost starting to get me a little excited, until I get spanked...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

Thanks dy. Yup, that works. Still can't figure out how to change curve sweeps or the end of a taper (ellipse). The wheel will snap to a quad point but it won't change the shape of the profile. Best I can do is either add or remove mat'l with another sweep/revolve. Greg

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

Thanks for the input. After playing around a little more it looks like you can use dims for modifying reasonably simple cylinders, but tapers (including drafted cylinders) and curve revolves are another story. You can move the flat ends with the wheel but it doesn't appear as though you can...

How to change cylinder diameter in ST?

It's got to be simple but can anyone tell me how to change a cylinder's dia in ST? 1) make a circle, ESC, 2) extrude to cylinder. Length change is no problem with wheel, but what the heck do you click on/select to mod the diameter? I know you can add a PMI dimension and change it there, but...

standard parts library - wont work

Thanks for the fix. Had the same problem, same solution: remove the .NET update. I'd like to get the update (SEr8) but I let my maintenance lapse. BTW, is there a way to get the updates for your current release without having a maintenance contract? (One can dream, eh?) V19r3

    Viewing Models on Mac

Thanks Gemnoc, It looks like Acrobat 3d doesn't support SE .asm file so that won't do. I've been playing around with eDrawings for a couple of days now and I like it. You can publish particular display configurations and it has a nice VCR style play feature that cycles though the standard...

    Viewing Models on Mac

I have a client that does not have access to PCs, only Macs (entertainment industry type). Does anyone know of a free viewer or other method for Mac users to view SE models. The Web Publisher Plug-in is an option, but I believe that it is a $4-500 cost. Greg

    LIP function default values

Can anyone tell me how to set the default values for the width & height of the LIP function? I use LIP freqently always with the same value, .04", for width & height. The default values are .125 and .250. I can't seem to figure any way to make my values sticky. They are listed in the...

    SolidEdge v18 sample part?

What exactly do you mean by sample part? I have a solid model printer (Dimension) and may be able to print you out a model, depending... Pls provide little more detail of your request. Greg
