    Critical Velocity for Air pockets

I am trying to use the formular V/sqrt(gD) = a + 0.56sqrt(sin S) to calculate the critical velocity on a downward slope of 0.0057 and I can't quiet get IF S (slope) is in radians or degrees. Using either unit gives diffrerent answers. I would like to know if its radians or degrees.
