But if I were to use pictorial section view I could pick an orientation for which the section detail is to be made and then only placed on the drawing sheet.

And that would also mean that I can change the orientation of the section detail after I have made a section view from the base part using pictorial view if I am understanding it correctly.

Thanks John. If I use pictorial section view would it give me the same detail as using the section view option? I think that would be great if I can orient the view of a section view using pictorial section instead if it gives the same sectioned detail.
