    Hooking up a Water Heater

Lewish, I'm assuming the voltage is to high! Now with the higher voltage there would have been lower amps, correct. I was also concerned with only one leg of the 277 having a breaker vs the 208/240 with a double pole breaker. I wasn't going to hook it up, I told my boss it wouldn't work, but had...

    Hooking up a Water Heater

I was ask to hook up a single phase water heater. The label on the water heater says: 208v or 240v. The power they had was 480v/277v (Wye). Would it be safe to hook up the 277v to the water heater. Thanks Nod

    Adjusting air cylinder cushions.

I have been ask to adj. all air cushions on a machine with probable 200 or more air cylinders. Its been while since I have done this. If I remember I can open the cushion up all the way as long as the pressure isn't to high and causeses the cyl. to hit real hard. Then gradually turn the cushion...

    Pneumatic air cyl lube

Thanks guys for your responses, as for adding oil I can add an oiler on each machine. However I was trying to avoid doing that since the cylinders all come with factory lube. I didn't want to introduce oil in the plant, figuring someone will think if its on one machine it's ok to put some in the...

    Pneumatic air cyl lube

Hello, Was wondering if anyone has ran across a good spray lubricant/grease that could be sprayed in the pneumatic lines to coat the cyl./ valve seals. What happened was some one put oil in some air lines and flushed out the factory lube. Took the valves ans cylinders apart, every thing looked...

    Transformer currents

Thanks Electrifire & Busbar for your prompt response. The transformer is a 480 - 120 /240. I had planned on over current devices on both hot legs. However I didn't reliaze the continous full load amps would be 41.7. I was thinking the 80% rule applied so 33.4 would have been continous full load.

    Transformer currents

Hi everyone, I have a 10 Kva single phase transformer. 480v primary & 120v secondary. Its my understanding at 120v I would have approx 41.5v from x3 to x1 and 41.5v from x4 to x2. Not 82 amps on 1 circuit. If this is correct and I have combined 25amps on 120v, and 6 amps on 220. Could the 25...

    Changing Electrical componet sizes

Thanks to all who replied to this thread. I found the 15 ohm 1/4 watt resistor 5% tol. at Radio shack. It was a carbon resistor. Sorry I had a typing error, I said I had a .1 mf cap at 100 v and was wondering if a .12 mf at600v would work. It should have been a .1mf at 600v. As far as what the...

    Changing Electrical componet sizes

Hello, Its been a long time since I've done electronic troubleshooting. I was wondering about changing resistors & Caps that are bad with some that are larger. I have a 15 ohm 1/4 watt resistor thats bad & was wondering if I could use a 15 ohm 1/2 watt. Also I have a .1 mf 100 volt cap and...

    Allen bradlel PLCs

Hello, I have been working in factories for approx 15 years dealing with diff. brands of PLC's. There were large machine and small machines, however they all had there own PLC or were hard wired to another machine. I had to change jobs and now am dealing with Allen bradley. The problem is they...
