JRB you are the man! That worked perfectly and I don't know why it didn't occur to me to use the trim tool like that before.
This forum is an awesome source of NX info and largely because of your contributions!
Thanks Again!
Vik
I have the thickened sheet cutting some of the ribs only half way. So I might have to extend the sheet surfaces a bit before I can use the trim tool. I am not at work anymore so can't try it now. But I did remember abandoning the trim body because of some reason like that.
Could any of the...
Hi JRB,
I'm using NX v7.5 and yes my intention is to have this as a part file.
After this problem is solved it would be interesting to know how you would approach converting this to an assembly though.
Thanks!
Vik
I have a number of ribs (solid bodies) spaced evenly and I want to used another body (thickened sheet surface) which intersects all these ribs to be subtracted out of the ribs in on operation. Its this possible.
I know that the Subtract Boolean operation only accepts one target body.
Any...
Hi stormyb, check this: thread561-317434
- Covered something on using 3D angle vs orient which should be helpful to you.
Hi John,
You seem to be a big contributor on the forums and very knowledgeable about NX. Was wondering if you had a solution to my arrangements question above: "Unable to...
Yup I have the same question as PascalDW. After I change a component in an assembly to Individually positioned (by right clicking it > properties > Parameters> arrangement). I can 't seem to change it back to "Same position in all".
I get the message "Unable to edit the arrangement positiong on...
Thank you! Both your posts were very helpful. I managed to get orient angle to work using the point method that uwam2ie mentioned and the using the datum planes running through the axis as mentioned by JohnRBaker.
So it occurred to me that after selecting the "axis" for the Orient Angle...
Have the same question as that in this post: thread561-266940
Example: Trying to orient a Hex bolt in a hole using the side of the bolt and the side of the object with the hole. Object with hole and bolt are the only two components of an assembly. I know how to do this with "3D Angle" But I...
I saw this post thread561-216355 and heres my two cents about why I thought fully constraining a sketch was so important.
A unconstrained sketch is one which does not have a single solution for the given constraints/dimensions i.e a different shape could be expressed using the same set of...
