    How to use a Thermistor

    yikes, man calm down, I dont know any more information and the manufacturer implied that I had every thing I needed in order to use the thermistor If did have more info, I just might be able to figure it out on my own. Thats why I am asking you guys, because I am lacking quite a bit of info on...

    How to use a Thermistor

    Hey can some one give me a quick run down on how to use a thermistor. After some googling, I see that it is common to use the Stienhart-Hart equation. Unfortunately this does not seem to coincide with the info I have. The manufacturer states that the thermistor has a resistivity of 100ohm at...

    using AC devices with DC

    Well the one I am specifically thinking about is 240V 2500W, I was also going to try this on some 120V 1800W heaters as well. I was using a 240V variac, but would like to use a computer controlled DC psu that I already have(yes I know there are AC pc controlled psu, but funds are not infinite).

    using AC devices with DC

    Well in this case I dont have any features like that, but if I did would I risk damaging them or would they just give erroneous results?

    using AC devices with DC

    So what would happen if I connected a cartridge heater(basically just a resistance) designed for AC to a DC power supply? What about the reverse scenario, a DC device to an AC source?

    Propane Flames

    I want do some brazing. Most likely with a silver filler metal. I have one of those single disposable propane tanks. Is that sufficient? Would a MAPP disposable tank be a better idea? Again, if the fuel supplied from a single tank(no oxygen tank) is it possible to manipulate the flame? In...

    Propane Flames

    Is it possible to manipulate a propane flame from a disposable tank to achieve oxidizing, neutral, and reducing flames?

    Tendency of a material to oxidize

    Ok that helps, thanks!

    Tendency of a material to oxidize

    I need to use a metallic powder as a base metal in a brazing process. I was using copper, but it oxidizes too much at high temperatures(in the range of 800C). How can I predict what material will have a slower oxidation rate or just less oxidation? Also, is there an oxidation activation...
