Hello,
thank you for your answer.
This was not what i was asking:
I asked, whether Abaqus' ordinary plastic material model needs a yield stress/strain table whos graph has a decreasing inclination (as metals usually have in their plastic region)
hi, i read the documentation on this but could not get a definite answer out of it (though i believe to have read it somewhere):
For this model to work i need to supply pairs of yield stress/plastic strain points that lead to a stress strain curve that has an decreasing gradient after its...
Thank you, finally an ontopic post. This is indeed a professional forum but some of your posts were simply spam.
Guess I'll have to write my own script then, hopefully my tutor will be able to make a geometry though. The options were very helpful, thanks.
"She saved you time by giving you a mesh instead of a geometry, which you would've had to mesh yourself. "
yeah, no. If i had had a geometry i would already be further now beause the orphan mesh is holding me back right now. She btw used mimic to obtain the model and said it is very unlikely...
From what i saw she had the raw data of the scan at her computer and a different program to view it. (unrelated to Abaqus)
This program as well has an export function to generate a abaqus mesh out of its data. Apparently no geometry is exported. (i got the cae file as is)
I got my mesh from my tutor who herself told me obtained it by using an X-ray computed tomograph (its a model of bovine bone). Thats apparently why there is no geometry behind it. (i wrote this already, no offence :P)
That is why i cannot change the element type the usual way.
Hi,
im trying to perform a plastic deformation simulation with Abaqus/Standard. (its a simple compressiontest).
It runs fine for the most part but near the end the deformations apparently become too big and the analysis fails. Im using triangular elements which i read arent really suited for...
Hello,
i was wondering how abaqus interpolates the material behaviour when i enter plastic properties such as e.g.
Stress (MPa) / Strain (10^-3 in/in)
0 / 0
12.0 / 0.219
26.0 / 0.417
Lets say i run a tensile or compression test. What...
Hi,
so i played around and used a tie constraint which apparently works. I set the plates as master surfaces (used 2 different constrains) and parts of the sample as slave surface. Now i wondered how you can force only the very elements of the sample that are right at the master surface to have...
Hi,
i got the following issue:
i want to do a tensile test (technically a compression test) with a model of bone i got. For this i received (by my adviser) the model itself and two additional plates.
I want to attach the bone model to the plates so that i can apply boundary conditions to the...
Hello,
I'm fairly new to Abaqus so bear with me:
I'd like to change material properties during a jobs iteration frames e.g. at the second iteration step id like to change my young's module to e.g. 10^9.
How do i do this?
My final goal is to evaluate each mesh element after an iteration and...
