Thanks JStephen
I have calculated the head pressure now, and am satisfied with that.
If this head pressure is present at the suction flange of a transfer pump, what other pressures need to be taken into account on the discharge side?
Hello
We are looking to install some diesel fuel storage tanks of approx 4m diameter and 14m height.
I am trying to calculate the pressure rating on the outlet valve and am having some problems/need some reassurance!
Is the Pressure rating calculated from
P=density x g x height
only? Or is...
Thanks for that link Montemayor, it has been very useful, and I haven't got to read all of the advice yet!
One thing that is apparent though - is that I should be using a positive displacement pump such as a three screw design for transferring oil between tanks.
There is less information about...
More help please!
If I have a pump connected to the outflow of some storage tanks (which have a height of 10m) does this head pressure relate to the suction pressure for pump selection, or is this going to be zero as it is not forced?
Also, how do you calculate discharge pressure -
I hope you...
Hi
I am trying to size some pumps, used to transfer gas oil between storage facilities.
What are the main criteria I will need to calculate in order to approach some suppliers?
Is length and height enough or will some pressures and throughputs be required?
If so, formulas would be much...

I would be interested to know of any products for emissions removal from the exhaust of heavy fuel oil generating plant. - or if a similar device as discussed previously can be adapted for use with these.
I would appreciate any practical knowledge or...
