Thanks CNSZU for the response.
The problem I have with the "save as" function in this situation is it changes the file name of every instance of the component in the assembly. I'm looking to change the file name of just one.
Forgive me but I don't understand what you mean by "creating a unique...
Hello,
Don't get me wrong I like NX much more than ProE but I've lond wanted to be able to "rename" a component in an assemble. Let say I have a dozen of the same components assembled in an assembly, I'd like to be able to rename just one of them without affecting the rest & maintaining assembly...
We wouldn't use this QTY program until the end of the design. By that time all components except fasteners are in this unique job folder with their own file name & detail # & wouldn't be a component in another design. The fasteners are family member files which cannot be written to. The QTY...
Thank you very much Mr. Baker. That worked like a champ. Man that's service!
Do you have a grip (or anything else) that will create & fill out a "QTY" attribute for every component in an NX7.5 assembly?
James
Hi wiengines,
Is it possible for a grip to extract the last three digits of the file name then create & add it to an attribute named "DETAIL NUMBER" ?
Thanks,
James
NX7.5
Hello,
Is there a way to create custom Hole Table callouts?
For example I have a couterbored type hole where both diameters are not any kind of standard & was not created with a UG hole creation command. It was created by a Boolean subtraction using a linked "tool" solid from a custom screw...
Cowski, I don't know but I doubt it since this is a crude drawing of large stamping press. All lines, arcs & probably splines.
How do I tell if a layer is on but unselectable?
James
Got it. First I opened the DWG using the pull down filter. Then I created a new blank prt file, then imported the other prt file while scaleing it at the same time. Everything is selectable. :)
Thanks for the input guys.
James
Sdeters, I just tried the "standalone" DWG translator. Same results as before. A lot of unselectable entities.
I also tried all the Part Cleanup choices, no luck.
Any other ideas out there?
James
Thanks for your responses guys.
Sam, I've opened the file three ways. First I simply used the open file command & set the drop down filter to dwg. Second I created a new empty prt file & imported the dwg while in model & drafting space. All gave the same result.
Cowski, The smash command...
Hello,
I've imported a 2D .DWG file into NX7.5. It appears to have came complete but I'm unable to select most of the lines. I can see them but cannot "pick" them. I'd like to be able to include some of the entities in a custom reference set but not all of them. I'd also like to be able to scale...
Hello,
Can some one help me find the setting in NX7.5 to turn off duplicate ordinate dimensions. I have "dogleg" set to infer. I'd like to eliminate the duplicate doglegged dimensions.
Thanks,
James
Sorry but I still can't get it to work. I tried different scenarios of selection picks turned on & off including including center point & end point on & still am unable to drag a selection box. I still get the no symbol when I try to drag a selection box. What could I be doing wrong? I'd love to...
Mr. Baker why is it that you always make it seem so simple! That worked. Thank you & Jerry for the help.
Now to the original subject of this thread & probably another dumb question. Once I've set the origin & the margins I can't figure out how to area select the objects. I left click, hold &...
There's no origin name. The display style was set to "no name" when it was created. When I turn the name setting back on it doesn't seem to affect the old origin.
Good morning,
I'm having trouble getting this technique to work. But first, the files I'm wanting to use this technique on already have a ordinate dimension origin in them which was there when it was saved to be a template. Can some one tell me how to delete this origin? I want to remove it from...
