oil in water detection for site sewer system.

What method should I use to in-line detect 10 ppm level of oil in my sewer effluent into open water? As usual space (resting time) is limited, so layer detection is not appropriate. On detection I would close the discharge valve. thanks in advance.

    sampling valve

Thanks Jim. The flowserve thing looks workable, some concern about the remaining dripping after sampling. The second, I recognised but I do not want to rely on the small seal for tightning.... Anybody with experience in using the flowserve type of sampler?

    Monyhly Report: Production

Introduce improvement items for your staff to come up with. Like operational and safety improvements/enhancements, record them, set up improvement plans, track the progress, award the groups (both thinkers and enablers), and feed back the outcome to MD. Precise follow-up is very hard, but it...

    sampling valve

I am looking for a solution to sample oil (300ml), recirculating over a pump back into its own tank. A simple tap can not be used as "bottom" tankvalve, as it is not reliable. We do have experience with a bypass stream but is a messy operation (maybe not the right type of bypass (or...

    Piggable pipe problem

No gage plate was used to my knowledge. I will certainly add this to our engineering standards before commisioning of any piggable piping.

    Piggable pipe problem

Very well, but first I need to know where the location(s) are. Is a gauging plate a known "best practise" as prover in welded piping?

    Piggable pipe problem

During construction a welded seam is now obstructing the pig for the weld was too hot. Are there any ways that a type of pigs can smoothen the internal pipe surface? As there is welding drop I assume that a steel brush pig is not sufficient...
