it seems that our inspector has measured and reported both peaking and banding twice.(as per method b in the attached picture).
so if the maximum is 20 what is your...
thank you if the a method is correct our inspector has reported both banding and peaking twice!
we have a 20m fixed supported storage tank which plumbness and roundness and levelness are ok, but in 4 point peaking and banding was measured in b method and reported as 40 mm.
what is your opinion...
We have a 20m diameter fixed roof supported roof storage tank as per API650, the roundness, plumbness and levelness are ok, but peaking and banding in 4 points are 40mm,
is that possible to accept or it needs repair, the erector said that repair is possible by tearing the seams and re-welding...
thank you for your valuable hints, I would like to know the detail of peaking
measurement.
please take a look at enclosed file, which method is correct, a or b?
thank you.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=6f0b1e1c-265c-409e-b6b7-51c355bfd843&file=peaking_measurement_method.jpg
can anybody let me know how we must measure peaking, when we use the template,we can fit the template in one side to shell and measure the distance between other side of template and shell.
in this case it seems that peaking is half of this distance, is this correct or not.
thank you all,
but in our tank the material is group I, is that possible to eliminate the MT, because the weld size is less than 13 mm.(shell is 12, bottom is 10 mm)
Thank you
In M.4.2 for the shell to bottom joint we shall do as following:
"MT shall be performed at every 13mm of deposited weld metal while the weld is being made and on the completed weld."
if the bottom plate is 10mm thk. and first course shell is 12 mm the fillet weld size is smaller than 13mm, then...
Thank you all,
The storage tank is for cooling water.
Diameter is 8 m and height is 9 m.
the water temp. is 15 C and ambient is 25 C.
the insulation is for thermal efficiency.
Regards,
can anybody tell me about thermal insulation under the bottom plate of a chilled water storage tank.
tank foundation is concrete ringwall, what kind of insulation we can use under the bottom plate?
Regards,
