Stoddard solvent is what we have used.
I've heard stories of methanol being used with disasterous results. Personally I wouldn't put anything water based through my injectors.
Hope this helps,

All,
I am not a cam designer, nor a rocket scientist but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. No actually I have been involved with valvetrain testing using the Spintron test equipment.
The acceleration in question is the engines acceleration rate which is variable even at W.O.T...
There is an SAE paper written by a couple of Roush engineers that has some interesting chain drive data. I don't think it included data from a belt drive. I do know that the engine performance is best with the belt then the chain and the gears were the worst, due to the harshness transmitted...
Thanks for the reply's
I'll try and answer your questions in order.
Willeng,
Yes, I am familiar with the A/F measuring equipment showing a lean condition when the engine is either too lean or too rich. What happens is that the cylinders have random misfire causing a charge of air and unburnt...
All,
I am having a problem with a project I'm working on. Here's the specs;
200 CID 4 cyl. 10:1 CR pump gas 250 BHP (60° 29.92 dry air)
240° 248° on 112°C/L
Individual runner EFI (Weber manifold) Accel gen 7 Management system.
The engine has been mapped on the Dynamometer with top quality A/F...
Hello all,
I'm looking into the design and manufacturing of compression rings (normally aspirated 4 stroke maximum performance engines). Hopefully there are some well informed individuals here that can help? Top compression rings are my primary focus, and I am interested in the different...
Good afternoon guys, Here's my take on side clearance vs. oil flow: The annulus of the rod bearing and the respective bearing clearance dictate the individual rod bearing oil flow, independent of the side clearance, unless the side clearance is nearly as small as the bearing clearance. Calculate...
