    blue dimension in assembly

I had an assembly. When I redrew extruded cut in the assembly, the dimension changed to blue instead of pink. I would like to know the difference between blue and pink dimension. By the way guys, I have done my course on CATIA not Solidworks. Thank you.

    chemical formula of wood

I would like to know the chemical formula of wood. Thank you.

    holes in design table

I have a sheet metal with four holes equally spaced for one configuration and six holes for another configuration. Behind this sheet metal, there is another part with the same number of holes of a different diameter for which I used "convert entities" to have the holes at the same position as...

    design table in assembly

How do we make design tables so that the change in configuration in a part changes in the assembly. Thank you.

    Thick sail

Do not forget to make the calculation as a thin airfoil.

    counter rotating props

That`s a good question because I don`t know how a single engine airplane could be balance in terms of rotating inertia!

    climb time

Thank you very much, but I found it. The source of error may come from SFC with the thrust varying with the mach number: how do I take into account this? Thank you.

    climb time

Could somebody explain me how to calculate the climb time from the maximum climb rate, because I can't correct my report. Thank you.

    Winglets

Relying on a book I read, the induced drag can not be suppressed because it generates lift. So winglets decrease cL and make airplanes fall!

    truss under bridge

Thank you, I was talking precisely about suspended bridges with truss under it to stiffen the structure in case of aerodynamic problems.

Winglet effect on wing lift and drag?

TurboTag, I red a book that says that you cannot eliminate induced drag because it generates the lift. The aspect ratio does not change, it`s the lift coefficient CL which changes. CDi=0 means that CL=0 not AR=infinite (CDi=CL2/(pi*AR)). The author Stepen Dalton received a medal from the...

    CFD packages

You have to be careful with CFD software because I don`t know if they now can take into account boundary layer separation!

    Flap Gaps

Wings with flaps out are two, three or four element airfoil. You can determine the lift by the panel methods. Bye!

    highway higher than buildings

I would like to know how much noise reduction we have for a highway which is higher than the houses and buildings. I know that sometimes we add a sound barrier on a segment of the highway where the buildings are higher than the road. Thank you.

    Propeller Airflow Analysis

In Froude theory, for a control volume, you have Q=pi*r^2(V2-V0) where V2 is the speed at radius r.

high lift airfoil data for race car downforce/ground effects

The ground effect is when a wing is near the ground. The stream lines of the downwash cannot bend alone without the wall: it is why we have to use an image. Ground effect is more easy to understand in case of a helicopter near the ground. For negatif lift, I believe you have to use an image too.

    Superscript

I type complexe characters in Word then past it in AutoCAD. For example Insert, Object, Microsoft Equation Editor 2.0 . Then in AutoCAD, you can even modify the size of an exponent. Or you can edit your text and choose other after clicking symbol.
