I mean ceiling return with a roof above the ceiling. most ceiling return with a drop ceiling that I see are between floors not below the roof. is it because the space below the roof and above the ceiling has more heat load?

is it advisable to have ceiling return at the roof with insulation? Because I imagine it also have heat load.

guys what i mean by draft is pressure, I fear that there will be pressure in the exhaust fan if the capacity of exhaust fan is lower than the cfm of outdoor units or there will be pressure in the fans of the outdoor units if the fan of the exhaust is greater in capacity than the outdoor units...

the room is only occupied by outdoor units, about four units. my fear is that if the total cfm of the outdoor units did not match with the exhaust fan of the room there will be a draft in the fans of either of the exhaust or the outdoor units.

you mean if the piping limit for example is 60 ft for a 2.5 hp wall mounted split type, the drop in capacity will be significant if you install it exceeding 200 ft?
