Is suction casing velocity of 20 fps too high?

Be careful here. Are we talking about an industrial or a commercial appication? Chilled water pump sounds like its part of a piping system connected for building space conditioning (offfices, classrooms, etc). High pump velocities can sometimes cause objectionable piping noise. Although you can...

I need to make a rectangular cutout

Thank you all for your help. Just today I asked a representative of DeWalt (Tools) if I could use some sort of saw; they recommended a circular saw with a high torgue motor and carbide blade. It would work best if I used low RPMs. The blade looked like it was made of the same material as a chop...

    What happened to the hype?

There are larger issues involved here. Its not just the cost to produec/convert energy, its also the cost of TRANSPORT. Theoretically, the hydrogen fuel cell's low fuel to weight ratio offers a savings in itself (not having to lug around tons of fuel). Hydrogen packs a relatively large energy...

I need to make a rectangular cutout

I need to make a rectangular cutout 10.3" x 13.8" in a 10 ga. mild steel plate. Does anyone know the best way to do this (other than "burning" it out)? I was told that I could use a high speed circular saw w/ a "diamond" (??) blade. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Magnetic starter control transformer

Best way to calc transformer capacity (assuming it is a MACHING TOOL transformer) is VA= SQRT((VA inrush * VA inrush) +(VA sealed *VA sealed))
