    4 Axis - angle limitation

Hi, I need to create a simple 4 Axis CAM Operation (deck of a surfboard, including the lower part of the rail) where I need to limit the max angle of the 4th axis to a max of +/- 90°. I seem to have no luck in finding the right toggles...using NX2. Any help would be greaty appreciated. Thanks!

    tool path

Quick and dirty sounds tempting, but I guess in this case it is not the answer, as I need to use the tool that will cut the rest of the board as well...and that has a 33mm diameter...but thanks anyway.

    tool path

Hi Mark, not sure what I am doing wrong, but I still get the same result...the cut is either on the left or right side of my selected Cuves/Edges. Also, I can not find any option for cutting parameters in profiel_3D...please check attached screenshot. I have the cutting parameters in all the...

    tool path

HI joycejo, I am not sure I understand where you are pointing at....I do not have a slot in the surfboard. To which of my 3 problems would this be the answer? Thanks for your help.

    tool path

Hi Mark, Thanks for that. Unfortunatly it seems I am not able to do it. 1. If I choose my center line, where I want to cut as the open boundary, the cut will be done on the left or right side of the center. But I need it to be cut on the centerline. Please see attached screenshot. 2. I can not...

    tool path

Hi KS1971, thanks for your tip, somehow it slipped on me. I have been thinking about that as well, but as you say, it is not really clean...if there is an automated way it would be preferable...

    tool path

Hi, I would like to cut down the center line of a surfboard in a multi depth cut. So far I am using Fixed Contour / Drive Method - Curv/Point. I am working in NX2. The problem is the next level cut always goes back to the starting point of the previous cut, instead of cutting going back and...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Hi DaSalo, just coming back to how I did it. I actually followed your advice and designed the surfaces / grid in way that it was selectable. So the drive geometry and the surfaceds to be cut were the same. But I also understood how I could use this new geometry to cut a surface that maybe...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Hi DaSalo, a BIG Thank you for all your help! I would not have made it without your support. We have cut the first board today and the result is great. I attach you a first picture. The shape is actually a little different to what I have uploaded before. It's a 12'6'' Stand Up Paddle...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Using the T-cutter actually seems to work very easy. Please see attached screenshot. The problem with the machining is that these are standard machines to cut surfboards...and I can not midify the settings, as it is not my machine. My own machine has a ball end mill and we have no problem...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Hi DaSalo, as always, once you have one problem solved, the next on comes up straight away... I got the toolpath going 95% now, but the problem is, that once the disc passes the wide point of the board it keeps cutting with the front and the back actually goes to deep in the board... I...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Dear DaSalo, Thanks for that explanation! I think this is the way to go! I managed already to get the desired toolpath for the center of the board -I am only missing the tail and nose- by breacking up the surface into an even grid - But I feel I am very close now. Thank you so much and I...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Hi DaSalo, Thanks for the big support here. I agree that it would be easier to solve it in the CAM. But I could not get it, so I was looking for a different solution. The JPEG was actually just to show what I want to achieve, I am not using that software - it can not manage any import. I use...

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Thanks mmauldin.... Jerry, well actuall the surfaces are mirrored...problem I guess is that you, can not sew into solid then...only if I create another surface to close that half... Tried already just sewing one side and then tried all of the above...also not really with success.

NX2 - converting multiple sheets into a single sheet

Hmm…I seem not to have too much luck here …I can select my two rail sheets, but I cannot select the deck…here I get an error message: Face is not parametrical- rectangular I attach the file for reference…might be easier...

Wacio, yes …I tried that also already, but could not get it to work…have been reading about it in the forum as well…is there a hint to get it working ?

Hi Jerry, I checked that thread prior to my post...unfortnatyl it does not solve the problem... I found the join face command under edit face menue, but unfortunatly it results only in error messages....
