    MERCURY-OIL SEPARATOR

    Has anyone had any experience removing mercury from crude oil? 25000bpd with anticipated particulate (mercury?) of 15 microns. Very vague details but if anyone can point me in the right direction. Cheers.

    PSV location

    Thanks very much guys. The actual vessel is a bag type filter with a top swing-away lid. There is a 2" NPT port near the top of the vessel shell. We obtained an off-the-shelf PSV set to the proper specs but it interferes with the vessel lid when opening. So I want to pipe-fit the PSV...

    When designing vessel/piping arrangement, is there a rule of thumb as to where the PSV is located. i.e. on the vessel or as close to the vessel as possible? Anybody know the code requirements for this? Vessel is ASME Sec VIII div I, 2002 addenda. Any help would be very much appreciated...

    For a wastewater treatment process I have to ensure a value of 50mg/l chemical oxygen demand. Treatment involves particulate filter and carbon filter. Will this affect the COD?

    Working on a waste water treatment process. Customer has requested 50mg/l chemical oxygen demand on release downstream. Can someone explain how I can ensure this? And exactly what this means... Will be using particulate filter to 1 micron absolute and carbon (GAC)to remove hydrocarbons.
