Potting agent to operate @ 25,000 ft

You might want to look at Duralco 4538. I'm running some trials with it right now and it's a very flexible epoxy. www.cotronics.com can supply.

Epoxy characteristics - expansion and contraction

VADLAB It depends totally on your application. In my experience the faster curing adhesives (like domestic Aradite etc.) tend to be compromised in terms of shrinkage and strength. I use Henkel Hysol EA9309NA to bond glass to Titanium and the shrinkage is very low. I cure at about 50C which...

Can silicone lubricant from a syringe effect epoxy properties?

Thanks Mike, I've been reading quite a bit about silicone (oils) effects generally. It seems likely that it is negating the effects of any surfactants in the adhesive so degrading its wetting ability and hence adhesion. I'm still grateful for anyone with any real experience of this. Cheers...

Can silicone lubricant from a syringe effect epoxy properties?

Hi all, I'm using a two part epoxy (Hysol Ea9303na) to bond BK7 glass to titanium alloy with a 50C 12hour cure. Sometimes I'm seeing debonding occuring under high tensile stress at the glass bond side. Other times the bonds withstand much higher stress without degradation. Most variables...
