hi
apologies if this covered before,
we have a 440v, 3 phase, 60hz supply on ship,
motor control panel , using a 440v/230v transformer, to supply lighting circuit,
should this the '0v' of the secondary be earthed ? ( ie wire connected from 0v to chasis of skid, control box ?)
thanks
Hi
I need a competitively priced 3G router, which can be configured for VPN, Ipsec , etc
anyone recommend good quality price, is for industrial application
thanks
many thanks guys
application is for a marine cable that is being terminated at shore, I believe it is some kind of data carrying cable,
at the minute Tyco and rossengineeringcorp looks good,
any more welcome,
many thanks
Hi all
I am trying to source some CAD drawings for Schneider (Merlin Gerin) distribution boards Isobar 4 16 way 3phase?
(I did contact Schneider, but they 'could not find any'!!)
they must exist somewhere on some server somewhere,
any pointers would be great
thanks
we had huge issues using westermo modems last year,
TDW33
they have had firmware issues, the swedes rehashed all their kit, and it was not properly tested,
in the end we set the HMI with a PPP connection, connected to FX3u in transparent mode. Key point with PPP is that all nodes have same...
thanks for replies.
I didnt think there was a BS standard.
UK generation is 240V.
EU requirement for single phase harmonisation is 230V.
UK still generates 240V. And is unlikely to change due to huge implications on generation network.

Hi all
are they any BS standards that state that it is recommended or must switch the neutral (so the neutral is taken thru a set of n/o on the motor contactor) as well as the phase to a single phase motor 240v motor?
thanks
Dave
we also noticed that the new TEC we had in was now wound differently to the one we evaluated.
Which surprised us! The connections are different in the motor terminals.
Same 0.75kw spec / chassis
?

Hi all
I am using a single phase TEC 0.75kw motor on 240v 50Hz UK supply.
every time we drop the supply to the motor the 30mA RCD trips?
I know motors can be electrically noisey, but is there a simpler way around this apart from upping the RCD to say 100mA??
Does anyone know where TEC motor...

"I might be a little concerned if this was an application where the contacts stayed open for years and years, then had to work reliably when closed. But if the contacts close once in a while, you're probablyh OK. "
this is my concern, the 'contacts' are open, because it is an inhouse...
itsmoked,
thanks, cant find any real adverse info from web searches for brass, my only thought is similar to yours, where the plunger/plate could beacome tarnished over time in an external environment, and possibly create a high impedance contact
Hi all,
we use a design where we have open face brass contacts for level switching control in a shaft, we now want to make our product suitable for external use,
my concern is the possible reaction of this material and rain water, the brass switch plates/plunger carry 24v dc,
are there any...
