    associativity from drafting to modeling

    Which "default" file would itthe switch lies in. Guess it would be in the UGII directory. By the way, is there no way to change the dimensions manually in drafting mode?

    I am using Unigraphics v17.0 and recently my company has upgraded to Office XP. For some reason, UG 17 has not been able to detect Excel anymore and it prompted unknown version of Excel installed. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

    As what Demco had said, I think the only way is to export it to parasolid which means making it unparametised.

    Well, I believe Solidworks can open the newer version files. It's not really perfect but the Featureworks manager can kind of try to recognise features.

    I believe what you would need is a CAD software. To model a car from scratch, surface modeling software like Rhino (http://www.rhino3d.com) or PTC CDRSi2000 (http://www.ptc.com) would be nice. As for rendering the model, Rhino works very well with Flamingo to render very photorealistic pictures...

    IMAN comments

    Well, I am using iMAN with Unigraphics v16 now, and I find that there are a lot of constraints as compared to using UG under a native environment. Not sure what others may think, but I don't find it user friendly at all.
