Kenat, Can you name any in my area? What I am really looking for is names.
rjoto, I will check into ZIN Tech.
After doing a lot more searching one job somewhat catches my eye is a Research Engineer. I never even knew this was a thing as I was under the impression that all the research was...
I generally agree with you. The problem is that generally smaller companies you are just a supplier for one of the bigger companies. So although you will make a much larger impact at the company you are at and you may get to wear more hats at the small company than a big company. Generally...
I really have no way of knowing that working at NASA wont suck. But I am really interested in space exploration and would love to be a part of the future propulsion systems. I more or less just hope that it would be a smaller group that allows you to be a part of the big overall project and...
Hello all,
I have had a very long road on my way to being an engineer. I started out of high school with very little math and ended up getting my associate in CAD. I then decided it just was not enough and worked very hard to make it through all the math classes at night while I worked as a...
Hello all,
I am trying to figure out for a hydro-forming application how much pressure is actually passed through a tube into the tool. Granted if the part we are talking about has lots of varying part shape than things can get complicated very quickly. But if we look at just a straight round...
Attached is a picture of a real example of one that I did. As you can see in the picture I was able to keep it within about 0.6mm which in this case was okay because I was looking for a bit of expansion anyway. I have done it a little tighter it is just that much more time consuming the more...
Thank you, That does not appear to be what I am looking for.
See the picture I attached for better explanation than my original post. All of the various sections through the transition I want to read 200mm.
jackk, Yes I believe we are on the same page with this. If you ever figure it out...
Sorry, Length of line is just the circumference. If you were to take a string and wrap it around the part at any possible point. In a perfect part the string should be 200mm in length.
I will start by saying I am a somewhat experienced CATIA user and have a number of years experience under my belt at this point. However this one has been stumping me for some time now and would really help me with my job if I can figure it out.
So basically what I am trying to due is:
Say we...
I am looking to form a tube. For example lets just say I want to go from a round 60 mm tube to a square shape tube. But in the transition area I want to retain a length of line through the transition... Is there any way to do this besides cutting lots of sections and measuring each one making...
I am just switching over to the CATIA based simulation from Solidworks Simulation. So maybe this is an obvious answer but please bare with me.
I am running a simulation on a hydroforming die. I am running it at ~110MPa of pressure inside the tube and ~45000 ton holding it down. Thats all...
Well I am currently working as a design engineer in the Hydro forming industry. I have been working on my degree in vehicle design right out of highschool. I am 21 now and will be finishing that degree next semester. I now have a better idea what path I want to take but am still a little...
I am working on some simulation and with all my past experience I never really needed constraints and things so this is the first time I have run into this.
For explanation sake lets just say you have two square blocks that are exactly the same size. Now those blocks are sitting one right on...
