    Cut like machine tool

JCReynolds79 - you make an excellent point. I've just spent an hour and couldn't find a way in assembly mode either. If you find a way, please share it. This needs to be on a PTC 'wish list'.

vc66 - You make me laugh - ROTFLMAO That was as close as I could come too... but the regen time burned up my model and it melted like butter...

    Cut like machine tool

Sounds easy. Now go try it. Remember that I want the cut to start and end with the 'round' surface geometry of the cylinder doing the cut - much like a minimill would do if rotating perpendicular about the axis of the part. And I want the remaining 'key' feature to be of a fixed size. So...

    Cut like machine tool

But then I'd end up with a square end to the cut? I may be missing something, if so, please explain. Basically, I need to be able to take the shape of a solid, sweep it along a path, and do the cut. I've included a better picture to explain this. I realize this could likely be done in 2-3...

    Cut like machine tool

Is there a way in proE to revolve a cylinder with it's axis perpendicular to the part axis (which is cylindrical) to create a cut in the part (i.e. simulate a machine cut using a minimaster cutting tool)? This has been covered somewhat in thread554-112447 but I find it very difficult to believe...

I am a new user trying to run a simple structural analysis. When I try to do the computation phase I keep receiving the following error: "Acquisition of field model failed: Could not find any property Check your model" I have applied material to the Part Body, meshed the part...
