    Thanks for the input. I agree that most mesh end up at the bottom of the slab. I also think that a 4" floor with mesh is not much better than a 4" plain concrete floor because of this.     Paving Over No. 57 Aggregate

    Is the 57 stone crushed or round ? In general a bad idea. I have found that the pavement can have settlement issues under parked cars the asphalt can push in the the voids in the summer.

    If you intend to bond the new concrete to the old concrete surface I would sugest get a petrographic analysis to determine the depth to be removed to achieve a good bond.
