Thanks for your answer, but how does this translate into numbers?
Ideally, I would like some numbers for the resin (or fiber) content of CSM, WR and UD when using resin infusion. It's only for preliminary design work, so they don't have to be 100% exact - typical numbers will do.
Best regards...
Hi everybody!
I know that it's possible to achieve a very low resin content when using resin infusion. In fact, someone once told me that he would have a hard time getting a higher resin content than 40% when using infusion.
My question is this: Is this low resin content regardless of the type...
I don't know about William, but Sighard Hoerner (or perhaps it would have been Hörner if the "¨" had been more widespread?) was, I'm told, in fact a WWII German aero designer.
Best regards,
Soeren (that should have been "ø" if that had been more widespread!)
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the other way round? That induced drag is created by lift and can be - more or less - reduced by using winglets?
Hi everybody,
In his excellent book "Model Aircraft Aerodynamics", Martin Simons mentions a family of so-called laminar bodies designed by Young. I have searched the web for further information regarding these bodies, but haven't been able to find anything.
Is there someone out there...
Hi again
First of all: Thanks to eponodyne!
Secondly: You could also check this website out:

There are some great forums there, too!

Hi Adrian
Wood as an Engineering Material won't help You much as it - as far as I remember - says nothing about determining the scantlings of boats. But it is a great source when it comes to mechanical properties.
I would instead recommend one of the old classic books about yacht design...
Hi everybody!
We have a problem which we hope someone can solve for us!
SNACK (which is no longer supported) can save airfoil coordinates in DXF-format. We have tried to import the coordinates in to AutoCAD 2002, which went fine, but the drawings in no way resembled an airfoil!
Where did we go...
About.Composites contains a lot of good stuff for people - beginners as well as experts - working with composites. Among other things a very good section on books: http://composite.miningco.com/cs/books/index.htm
Hello everybody,
Does anyone know where to get information about an airfoil named DAG?
All I know is that it is a laminar foil. I've searched everywhere but so far without any luck.

Søren Flening
