    Fan Static Pressure Calc

I'm in a position of having to evaluate the HVAC designs submitted by contractors. My question is, what does the "Static Pressure" spec given for a fan mean? I understand what static pressure is, and any google search of this topic just brings up a million educational resources explaining what...

double pole circuit: uneven current from each pole

Thanks for the replies all here's some more info. The voltages I quoted are wrt ground. The facility does have three phase. The power is delivered by the Utility at 480V 3 phase then we've got a step down transformer that goes from 480V to 240V. I've been told each breaker is 240V single phase...

double pole circuit: uneven current from each pole

I work in a facility which has 240V circuits which come from double pole breakers. Both of the poles are hot and there is no neutral in the circuit. One pole is 130V and the other is 108V and together these create 240 V circuit. We had an electrician in today doing some service on our panels and...

Multiple arrays in a nested for loop?

Just a suggestion, but if all the arrays are the same length, why not use a 2d matrix with each column being one of the vectors. Cells might be fine for this case, but I've found cells to be cumbersome at times.

    Need GOOD electrochemistry text.

Hi, I realize this is slightly out of place in this forum but I'm hoping a fellow EE can help me out. I'm finding that most of the electrochemistry authors out there don't have a good grasp of electrical theory. Can anyone recommend a good electrochemistry text or online reference. One written...

Sinusoidal phase locked loop IC: Anyone know of one

Thanks all. I'm really not looking for a work around. I know how I can do this with the readily available square wave output PLLs, I just figured there had to be a single IC out there that would give me the sine I'm looking for. This is just a part of my circuit so I don't want the PLL to take...

Sinusoidal phase locked loop IC: Anyone know of one

The frequency is about 10-100Hz. The amplitude doesn't really matter to me, I guess >=1V, <5V would be nice. Although seeing how elusive this IC is, I'll settle for a 50V sine if I have to and then just attenuate.

Sinusoidal phase locked loop IC: Anyone know of one

Hi, I can't seem to find any IC phase locked loop that outputs a sinusoid. All the ones I've found have square wave and triangle wave outputs, and a digital phase comparator. I realize I can just do a triangle to sine conversion but there must be an IC out there that does it all. Thanks.

Mixer: Small IF frequency vs LO/RF

Ok, I'm from Canada, so I thought that might be a joke about the cold making light move slower. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Mixer: Small IF frequency vs LO/RF

Thanks all. VE1BLL: We are shooting for around 1-5cm depth resolution, not really sure what's going to be realistic though. The 10kHz is order of magnitude, because our ADC samples at a max of 100kHz.

Mixer: Small IF frequency vs LO/RF

Hi, I am designing an FMCW-GPR. My question is about the mixer. We are hoping to keep the IF very low (~10kHz) to make ADC easier, but our LO freq and RF must be ~1.5GHz. The mixer we want to buy does spec the IF as DC-1GHz, but I worry that there will be an issue having the IF so much smaller...
