    Vacuum Cup Selection

I have an application that requires pneumatic vacuum cups to remove components from a mould tool once the tool opens - see video. There are 8 vacuum cups (on a robotic arm) that are meant to remove 4 lids. The air supply is 6 bar. The components to be removed are rectangular, light and flat...

Manufacturing to Out-of-Date Component Drawings & Standards

I work for an injection moulding company that produces medical parts in accordance with clients’ drawings & specifications. Recently, we have received a drawing that is a number of years old & references an ISO standard (ISO 594-1, which was valid at the time of the drawing’s approval), that is...

    CE Marking

I need to understand how the CE marking process works when a machine is being supplied to us (from one site) & then integrated with our machinery on another site. I shall now explain in more detail: We, (a manufacturer), have injection moulding machines that produce individual parts for the...

    Galvanic corrosion of 316

Will crevice corrosion attack: * The area of the 316 brackets that will be contact with the Duplex piping? * The 316 fasteners/u-bolt threads that will secure the Duplex piping? * There brackets are welded to the frame but no welds are in contact with the Duplex. Are the welds susceptible to...

    Galvanic corrosion of 316

I have some 316 St St brackets that will be welded to a 316 St St frame. These brackets will be in contact with Duplex piping, A790/S31803. The Duplex piping will be secured to the brackets with 316 u-bolts. This assembly is an oil and gas skid that will be operating on an offshore platform...

    Galvanic Corrosion of 316 Thread

Points taken. I'm trying to source a suitable adaptor in Duplex, as 316 st St isn't the best choice (hence me writing my concerns). What does crevice corrosion dependant on, other than material, e.g temperature and pressure? The operating temperature will be 0degC-40degC.

    Galvanic Corrosion of 316 Thread

I have a Duplex plate (exact grade unknown) that will have a tapered thread tapped through it. A tapered 316 st st adaptor will be screwed into it. Both components will feature on an earthed skid, in a salt water environment (offshore application). No loads will be experienced. My questions...
