Iu are right. Oh me I did not consider max starting current , was just looking at the FLA of 1.4. I think using a factor of 7 for max running current gives me a 9.8A. So yes a 10A relay will be good. Thanks for that update

Aside Manufacturer procedure for motor re-start. Is there any general rule as to the time interval that should be allowed for re-starting a motor that has tripped? is there are such rule on IEC or NEMA etc?

So the issue in contention is that the Flame scanner lens keeps getting dirty which is a direct cause for most of the trips? Any suggestions as to what may be causing this trend?
I keep having frequent trips of the scanner in the SRU unit. What are some of the reasons why a flame scanner would trip many times with respect to the mentioned unit and also in general? I do have some ideas but the more ideas and solutions I have would be very useful.
