Maximum point load on un reinforced concrete wall?

Correct. I am not a structural engineer. And what if the wall has horizontal rebar only?

Maximum point load on un reinforced concrete wall?

And this could happen with a point load of any weight?

Maximum point load on un reinforced concrete wall?

Point load going down on a 10” thick concrete wall from a 5x5x3/8 hss column on 10” base plate. About 25 kips. 3000psf soil

Maximum point load on un reinforced concrete wall?

What would the maximum point load Be on an unreinforced 8’ tall 10” thick 3000 psi concrete wall With 24” continuous footings? I don’t believe compression would be a factor in residential projects. It’s tension to look at correct?

should column top plates be same size as beams they support?

Going to be have a 5x5x3/8" hss column supporting a 10x60 steel beam. Should the top plate of column match the width of the bottom web of w10x60? Would the base plate need to be the same size? Thanks

    Beam on top of column

A beam connected to the side of column is a pinned connection correct? What type of connection is a beam Resting on top of a column? Is this the same for both wood and steel? Thanks

What type of load is applied to a beam that accepts a hung beam off of it?

See sketch for clarification. Would you calculate 5 kips in red coming from the side of the beam the same way as you would calculate 5 kips in green coming from the top? Even if it coming from the side of the beam (rather than from the top), is it still just considered a point load? Thanks

What type of load is applied to a beam that accepts a hung beam off of it?

When a beam is hung from the side of another beam, what do you call that type of applied load? Do you just take the end reaction of the hanging beam and apply it to the top of the accepting beam like a point load? Or is it different because it come from the side? Also what does this...

How does a point load spread on a foundation wall?

Does a point load spread 45 degrees on a concrete foundation wall? Example: if a wall is 12”wide by 8 feet tall, By the time the load reaches the bottom of wall/ soil traveling at a 45 degree angle, is the bearing area 8sf for the load? At 3000psf soil Can we then apply a load of up to 8x3000...
