    D1.1 PQR RT/UT Test Requirements

Background: The code in question is AWS D1.1:2015. There have been no exceptions or deviations of any sort granted by the EOR. This is a production weldment, using a combination of listed and unlisted materials. The weld shop will be using several pre-qualified GMAW WPS’s. They will also be...

WPS Qualification Test - Material Availablility

I need to perform a PQR on a listed base material being welded to an unlisted, forged and heat treated material. I should be using Figure 4.19 from D1.1:2010, the fillet weld soundness test. The problem is, with the forged material, I cannot make or buy a plate that matches the dimensions shown...

    XML Crash and Lost Toolbars

Same problem here, 32 bit. I didn't notice any crashes at all. Draftsight just started opening today with no toolbars or menus loading, after working fine for over a year. Any attempt to load any customizations now results in an immediate crash with no further explanation. The software is now...

    D1.3 Performance Qualification, non-prequalified materials

I need some guidance/advise/interpretation for dealing with D1.3 welder performance qualifications. Code is D1.3:2008 4.8.1.2 allows a welder to be performance qualified through WPS qualification. Let's say the test is for a non-ASTM material, like an EN10149-2 grade. Since the test would be...

    Longitudinal bend specimen vs transverse

I will be conducting (2) PQR tests soon. 1" thick coupons, A656-80 to A514, and 1" thick A514-A514. I will be using Figure 4.10 from D1.1, using B-U2a-GF from Figure 3.4, 1/4" root. Does anybody have experience with these materials, in this thickness? Were you able to make transverse bends...

    K-Factor in bend line notes

The default on drawings for bend line notes is "<bend-direction> <bend-angle> <bend-radius>" ,and that is of course controlled by the contents of a text file. Can I add something to this file, so that the K-Factor of each bend always shows up at the end of the note? If yes, what do I add? Thanks

    Preheat an essential variable?

Hello, first time posting here. Please bear with me as I don't understand the terminology probably as well as I should. I have welders who have been tested on B-U 4a-GF as per the lower diagram on page 94 of the 2006 d1.1 manual. The process was GMAW, the groove angle was 45 deg, thus the root...
