    1006 STEEL WHAT TYPE OF FASTENERS TO USE

    My fasteners are 1/4-20 x 5/8 lg. qty is 14 screws. Just mounting a 9'long 1x1 thin wall tube on the top surface. The components will be inside and no one has ever mentioned an issue with corrosion resistance. Thanks

    Ok, big block of 1006 type carbon steel machined with various tapped holes. There are other components being fastened to it with a mix of material types of fasteners. Some stainless and some Gr5. I thought with cs you could not use a ss fastener? Did not see any notes on any of the drawings...

    Yes. The model and LOM are not connected. LOM is not generated. It is hand typed in.

    We are STILL using IDEAS. No strike through capabilites. Just draw a line.

    Thanks. I had also looked through ASME but could not find anything. I had wanted to just strike through. The checker said he had never seen it done that way before. I can see a case for both methods. Thanks

    Revising the list of material. Drawing will be Rev B. Item 9 is a swivel leveling foot. Engineer wants to replace it with a non-swiveling foot. This is a new company I am with now. Very lax drafting standards here. Should Item 9 be lined through (deleted) on LOM and add new item # for new...
