Hi,
I have a PQR for a fillet weld (only with macro). Can I use it for fillet welds on a pressure-containing component?
Someone told me that a WPS for fillet welds for pressure containing components in production should be qualified with a butt weld.

Hi,
Issue with classification ER70S-6 - SF 5.18 and A No.1 classification.
ASME IX QW-442 says maximum 1.60 Mn and Si 1.0 for A No.1
ASME II C SFA 5:16 says Si 0.80-1.15 and Mn 1.40-1.85 (same as AWS 5.18)
Why these 2 differences and what should I use?
We have a 2.4 mm LNT 26 Lincoln filler...
Hello,
can someone explain me what the meaning is of the text below?
QW-410.47 is an essential for PAW hardface overlay and I have to mentioned this parameter in the WPS.What I do not understand is the rate of cooling temp from the fusing temp. and a change in fusing temp.

Hi DekDee,

I think oxygen is not allowed (O2 not approved). See attachement filler matwerial from supplier.

Hello,
I have a PQR:
Code AWS D1.1
Process: GMAW
Material: S235JR
Filler: Lincoln LNM 26 ER70S-6. AWS A5.18
Prescribed shielding gas: Ar or Ar-CO2
Gas used for PQR:
Shielding gas: (M24 - Ar-CO2-O2)
I think this is not allowed because:
Applied shielding is not in accordance with...
Hi,
What is de T range if:
SMAW - Plate 15 mm - V-groove - P6 - PWHT and Impact tested in PQR
Table QW-451.1 ASME IX said: Over 3/8 (10), but less than 3/4 (19) = 2T for T for base metal.
Someone told me that T = 1.1 x T because Impact test and PWHT performed during the PQR
Is that so and...

Dear people,
Who can help me with the following?
A PQR is made for a weld (see Annex 2) acc 15614-1. Tests are performed acc 15614-1 (Table 1) as T-connection by welding. The customer believes that testing the mechanical properties is required. Agree if this is a butt weld. But is this a butt...
I have a drawing (20 Years old) for an overlay with material X5CrNiMo 18-12.Is this AISI316???
I can not figure out the exact code. Google gives me several options but not the exact coding.
As an example: Google says ..... X5CrNi18-12 but without Mo.

Dear all,
I have a GTAW semi-autom. WPS-PQR for overlay ER308L-ER309L on P1
Is it possible to create a new WPS for 309-316 on P1, based on the existing PQR without requalification?
Thnx! Patrick
Dear people,
what is the meaning of this symbol? Is this is a BW or FW?
For me it seems that one side must be chamfered, welded and after that a fillet weld 10.5 mm
And on the other side a fillet weld 14 mm
Thnx, Patrick
Hello,
Can a welders qualification be extended only based on a welding process, regardless material group, filler etc...
Example: You have several Welding Procedures Specifications with different material groups, filler metal etc...but only with GTAW.
A welder is welding one of the WPS'en...
