    Sour water stripper unit

Thank you @PaoloPemi..I will go through the paper @georgeverghese..The company doesn't have a pro-II license...It was already designed a few years back. Now I have to check its adequacy if another stream of around 15m3 is also going into this stripper unit..like changes in reboiler duty, will...

    Sour water stripper unit

Ok We are using a trayed column.

    Sour water stripper unit

Yes @shvet I am trying to get the test run data so that I can compare and model it better. Any reading material on sour water stripper process chemistry ?? Thank You !!

    Sour water stripper unit

Thank you for your prompt response !! The unit has already been designed and is under commissioning...I am simulating it because i need to see the change in reboiler duty, Pa duty, when another waste stream containing ammonia and h2s is also sent to this unit..if the existing unit can handle it...

    Sour water stripper unit

Hello I am trying to simulate a 2-stage sour water unit using Aspen Hysys...I have used sour PR package...There is no access to other simulation software like protreat/promax Both the stripper columns have pumparounds..The number of trays in each column are 47...The pumparound draw is taken...

Hello I have to calculate area req

I will try to get it But as of now I don't have any PFD & PID with me Thank you !!

Hello I have to calculate area req

It is an orifice plate and has multiple holes (as i mentioned in my first post). I know the pressure that is to be maintained downstream of the orifice...I have to size the orifice and check how much is the back pressure in the nozzle and check upstream pressure required...the criteria is that...

Hello I have to calculate area req

Application is crude and steam are passed through a nozzle...which has an orifice at the outlet of the nozzle...downstream pressure of nozzle is fixed..

Hello I have to calculate area req

Thank you @shvet...yes these two combinations are enitrely different...even in my case when steam is added to the crude, some hydrocarbons vaporize...

Hello I have to calculate area req

Thank you all for your inputs. I will go through the articles @pierreick

Hello I have to calculate area req

Not very precise Approximate value is okay(within 10-15%)

Hello I have to calculate area req

Thank you for your prompt response any idea if this can simulated in aspen hysys ?
  16. ReemaK

Hello I have to calculate area req

Hello I have to calculate area required for an orifice . The downstream pressure is fixed. The flow is a multiphase flow of crude and steam.(Crude flowrate = 2000kg/hr and steam is 50kg/hr) If any standard sizing procedure is available, can anyone please share it ? And can this be simulated in...

    Aspen EDR studies

yes...For U-tube we need to have a minimum of 2 passes...the 1-shell, 1-tube pass I did is also a fixed tube exchanger... that is why I had a doubt if 1-shell, 1-tube pass can be used or not thank you @christine
  18. ReemaK

    Aspen EDR studies

Yes Coming to pump and piping...actually hot oil is one heating medium we are considering...there are 3 more (steam, electric and feed/product heat integration)...so i think once the heating medium is finalized we have to look pump requirement !! This project is being done by other department...

    Aspen EDR studies

Thank you !! I will try decreasing both and check !!

    Aspen EDR studies

Thank you for your prompt response @1503-44 Actually I wanted to decrease the number of tubes...not increase them...so which would be a better option ? reducing the hot oil flowrate ? And I have done the simulation using 1-shell, 2-tube pass...it is showing temperature cross because the outlet...
