Hi birm,
As I stated above, this is a particular project where engineering, constructor and owner belong to the same company, so abut the owner statement that should nor be a problem.
Second: an initial service test and examination is acceptable when other types of tests are not practical"...
Hi Matt,
I don´t thick that you read my first post, I am basing my question on ASME B31.1 para 137.3.2 which states:
"Nonbolier external piping. As an alternative NBEP, when specified by the owner, the piping may be leak tested in accordance with para. 137.7"
Para. 137.7 states:

Hi XL83NL!
This is a very particular project, we engineering, contrustor and owner are the same company, so that should not be a big deal. I am just wondering if this is a good engineering practice!

Hi all,
I am currently working on a Thermosolar Plant where a molten salts are the fluid to be heated in order to obtain steam afterwards. This molten salt line goes up through a tower of 250 m, and as the salts solidify at high temperatures, to avoid damage on the flanges face it was decided...
Thanks XL83NL,
I had already read this point, the problem is that this is adressed to welds but it does not mention the Charpy on the material itself. This is my main concern.
Regards
ASME B31.3 claims that no Charpy Test is required for A106 Gr. B if the design temperature is equal or above -29ºC, and I have doubts if this can also apply to ASME B31.8, since it does not specify.
For your information these pipes shall be used for compression gas station in Mexico (design...
Dear all,
Its not very long ago that I am into valve engineering and I am finding problems to understand some matters of fire test in valves. How can it be that we are asking for an API 609 soft seated valve that acomplish requirements of API 607, as far as I know PTFE should not be used with...
Dear all,
One of my vendors is offering welded in seats for valves that required threaded rings. As per my specs. this deviation is acceptable, but I am wondering what is the procedure to weld an overlay of 316 on a A216 WCB body valve.... does anyone know?
Thanks so much!
