    Define non symmetric material behaviour

Hello, Abaqus offers the possibility to implement material data from test data. You can enter Experimental data set as Compression test and 1 for Tension. I assume you have an elastic material with non-linear deformations? Then take a look at the Abaqus documentation on hyperelastic modelling.

    Change colour of field visualisation

Hello, does anyone know, how i can change the colour of my analytical field? I cant find it, maybe someone has an advice? Greetings

How to plot the chosen element values permanent for plot export

hello thanks for your answer, i used annotations now and filled the values as a text field in and export it afterwards

How to plot the chosen element values permanent for plot export

Hello, I know how to export the model as an image file. But how can I permanently define the probe values in parallel via the query window so that they are also exported later? As soon as I close the probe values window, the blue comments disappear. Best regards and many thanks

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hi there, I changed the mapper controls from absolute tolerance type to relative and set the neighbourhood search distance tolerance to 1E+06. I also set the default value for the unmapped field to 0.005 (it was 0 before). In the last step I make sure in the analytical field that I define...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hi, i lowered the neighborhood search distance tolerance to 10, no error warnings in simulation (completed) but i get zero force in my whole simulation model. when i upper it to 100 i get an instant error warning in the simulation with my C3D8R elements:

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

What does this error message mean in detail? My aim is to create the pressure in the centre of each element via the mathematical field. But there is no node there, is that still allowed? 1 mesh element is 12.7 mm wide (y) and long (z). with the mathematical field for example 1: x=0 y=6.35...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hello FEA way, I have now defined the analytical field with 4 vectors. I have stored the value in MPa in the field value. Why are not only these 4 vectors displayed in the load function? Unfortunately, this does not make sense for my use case of a surface-based, varying pressure distribution...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I have now tried it via an analytical field with an example value. I have defined the coordinates so that the pressure acts on the centre of the first element. Is it correct that I enter the value in N/mm² as the field value for the pressure if I use the SI...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hi, you are right, the *DLoads definition in the .inp file is empty. But I don't understand why, because I connected the pressure load function to the discrete array I defined. Aren't the values in "Component 1" my pressure values in N/mm²? Why would you recommend using an analytical field in...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hello, thanks for the feedback. An analytical field is then only possible via the pressure load definition right? Which load definition do you generally recommend for this case? Concentrated force or pressure? For my application, I only want to read out the displacement later. The problem with...

Correct use of load definition in Abaqus on surfaces with varying values

Hello dear community, I would like to transfer a seat pressure distribution into my simulation model. I have already been able to validate my hyperelastic material in previous studies by comparing it to experimental studies. I would like to import my seat pressure data from a seat pressure...

    Understanding of Material Calibration Question

How would you analyze the stability of the material? I have simulated my simulation model identically to the real experiment and, strangely enough, I get an excellent fit of the simulation data and the real experiment with the unstable material model. With the stable material, on the other hand...

    Understanding of Material Calibration Question

hello thank you for answer, i understand its a different order. But why does the better fit match as unstable, and the worse fit as stable? If you compare the plots you can see it .

    Abaqus Hyperelastic MAterial

Hello, thank you for your answer i did that already. https://www.eng-tips.com/threads/understanding-of-material-calibration-question.524401/ By accident i opened a new Thread, i am sorry. I dont understand why the good correlation is unstable and the bad one stable, when the fits are not...

    Understanding of Material Calibration Question

Hello, can someone explain to me why the first plot is stable in the material evaluation and the second is not? This makes no sense to me. Test data from compression test are entered with a negative sign (-strain and -stress). Greetings

    Abaqus Hyperelastic MAterial

How do you do? I would like to simulate a substitute test for the compression test for hyperelastic materials in Abaqus. I have experimentally determined a lattice structure, test data from a compression test and transverse contraction number. Now my question is: If I enter the test data for...

    Abaqus Optimization for Materials

Hello, I have a question about the feasibility of using the conventional Abaqus GUI without scripting. The following case: I have already set up a homogenised Abaqus model in which hyperfoam material cards/data are assigned to the elements. I have a hyperelastic case with very large...
