I work in a valve company. I received a MTR of materials SA-995 grade 6A from a supplier.Chemical composition & mechanical properties conforms with the above materials but PREN value not conform. Should the materials conforms with SA-995 grade 6A.
Thanks,
I have some springs to be use in nuclear industry. These spring need to approve CMTR as per ASME NCA-3800. The test certificate does not provide Mill MTR. Should it require mill MTR as per NCA-3800.
Thanks
For the spring used in a nuclear industry some customer ask for the spring ASME Code Section III, Division 1, Class 1, 2010 Edition, 2011 Add some other for ASME Code Section III, Division 1, Class 1, 1980 Edition, S80 Add.
So what is the basic difference between these two.
Thanks
The specification of chemical composition of SB-511 UNS N08330 (Ni-Fe-Cr-Si Alloy) does not specify of Fe composition just mention Fe remainder. I got a MTR of the above material chemical composition comply but not include the Fe content. But they certify the material is SB-511 UNS N08330...
Anybody tell me why ASME II-D recommended for 316 Stainless Steel maximum temperature 1500F whereas for 316L 850F although 316L is superior quality. Only difference of these two type of steel are carbon content (.08 & .03 Max).
Some MTR certify that "the material is free from Mucury, Cadmium, Radium, low melting element and Alpha source contamination".
What is the bad effect in these element in ferrous and nonferrous material.
What is the alpha source.
Thanks
What are the basic feature should have in a material test report other than mechanical chemical test report. I got some mtr of 316ss from various supplier how do I confirm that this one is from original melting shop.
Hi,
