    Certification Requirements for Handling Equipment

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of any concrete requirements to certification requirements for mechanical handling equipment that is of foldable or of collapsable designs. For instance, do I need to re-certify an A-Frame Gantry if I take it down after I reassemble it? Same would go...

Tightening Anchor Bolts with torque wrench

Ron my bad I thought it was from pressure to torque. Yes the equation you reffered to holds assuming the same conditions I have given. This is however an aproximation. The full equation is given in ASME PCC-1, and takes into account much more parameters.

Tightening Anchor Bolts with torque wrench

Generally, for any material, the torque needed is directly related to the bolt size. The torque function is exponential. For 5/8" and 3/4" diameter, your torque would need to be: 18 and 36 ft-lb for 20 ksi 27 and 56 ft-lb for 30 ksi ASSUMING: -A coefficient of friction of around 0.12...

    Welding Dissimilar Metals

Ripz, the pipes will be radiographed as well. The overlay is because this is a highly corrosive environment. wegm, the welding is actually internally performed, so this means I should start with the 316 root weld? As for the working temperature, it is 100 degC so I wouldn't worry about the...

    Welding Dissimilar Metals

Oh sorry the header is NPS 8", and the tee is NPS 6". I do have several welds to do though, that's just one of them. What do you recommend for optimizing in general?

    Welding Dissimilar Metals

Hey guys, I have an ASTM A333 Gr. 6, seamless, with 3mm SS 316/316L overlay pipe to be welded to an ASTM A403 WP 316/316L reducer tee. Now as per my understanding, I shouldn't face any problems welding the two metals together. However, what would be a proposed methodology? And what filler metal...
