Hi All,
I read that there are many companies cold stacking jackup rigs in the GoM. I am assuming that these rigs are in the shallow water areas of the gulf. Where are the safe designated areas, main concern being exposure to hurricanes? What are the steps taken to protect the rigs?
Thanks.
Hi,
I am looking at the risk assessment of pipe-in-pipe lay methodology and practically new to this concept. Would appreciate your feedback.
1) What are the challenges in Pipe-in-pipe lay as opposed to the single pipelay?
2) How is wet buckling detected in the inner pipe?
3) Based on limited...
Hi,
I've received information on a pipelay vessel estimated to lay 3.5km 42" pipe per day on DP. In the Nordstream project, I believe the vessel lay speed could go up to 4km.
Someone commented that a rate of 4km per day is too fast. Is there a higher likelihood of wet buckle the faster the...
I've read that FPSO designs are based on the storage, production & export capacities, site environment and crew complement. With reference to the Mustang worldwide survey of FPSO units, I've noticed that though an FPSO may be large in terms of hull dry weight and size (length, width & height)...
Hi,
I need to evaluate the risks of offshore damage/losses from flowline installation, at depths say 80m (Carnarvon Basin), compared to pipeline installation. How are they different in terms of installation, material, behaviour etc? Does flowlines face lesser risk of dry/wet buckling...
