quick question, I have a situation where i have a cantilever beam and i have been told that on the free end there is a bending moment load only of 1000 Nm and the overall length of the beam is 2 m.
What would the vertical load be on the fixed end??

I have a pipe welded to a large heavy base and the other side is capped off. If I neglect all other stresses other than the tensile stress in the cross sectional area of the pipe due to the pipe end being capped, what would it be???

I was just wondering what rules to design too if my conical end half angle at the apex is greater than 60° as stated in PD5500.
If there's anything in PD5500 that's great if not i would be happy to look at other codes.
