Dear All,
Is there any LR or DNV Standard/Code for structural design of submarine veicle? Recommanded Practice for the design of tourist submarines?
Thanks.
Dear all,
I am reading App.3.2 DESIGN FOR FATIGUE of AISC - 2005 and found the following on the effects of eccentricity
-------------------------------------AISC App.3.2--------------------------------------------------
For axially loaded angle members where the center of gravity of the...
Hi all,
the following is a US code requirement for camber:
--------------------------------
1.2.10 CAMBER (1995) R(2014)
The camber of plate girders more than 90 feet in length shall be equal to the deflection produced by the dead load only. Plate girders 90 feet or less in length and rolled...
Dear all,
we know there are lots of code and guidance for metal fatigue analysis.Any Fatigue Assessment Code/Practice for composites to follow? thanks.
Dear all,
It seems that both DBTT & FATT are reflecting the temperature from ductile to brittle.
Any difference between DBTT and FATT:
-ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT)
-fracture appearance transition temperature(FATT)
Thanks.
Dear all,
For metals in Aricraft & Aerospace, if we have fond some small flaws and we need to assess if the flaw will develop to crack that is not acceptable.
What is the applicable Code/std to conduct fracture/fatigue assessment?
Thanks.
Dear all,
when I read a product introduction for a Composite pipe and find the "minimum barrel diameter of storage reel".
Before that, I only know Min. ben radius. Could anybody introduce sth. on "minimum barrel diameter"?
Thanks.
I believe many of you guys has seen this term Knockdown Factor. I met this reduction factor in case of buckling of plates, corrosion.
Can anybody give me some guidance on the actual meaning of Knockdown Factor (KDF)? Or any book/doc I can refer to?
Thanks.
Dear All,
PREN is a vital number to roughly evaluate the
corrosion resistance of CRA(Corrosion Resistance Alloy),
in which Chrome(Cr) and Nickle(Ni) are importance element.
In calculating PREN,percentages of Cr/Mo/Nitrogen and even tungsten(W) are included.
Would anybody share with me, why...
With some knowledge om composite mechanics, i am going to design some composite structure for civil envineering with plate and pipes.
u know for steel structures, we have plenty of code to follow.
would you please advise if any composite design code or standard to follow?
tks.
