Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone know's how to combine 2 models into one so that they can interact. Both are orphan meshes. They are 2 seperate bones that make a joint. Building a part in abaqus is not an option nor is importing it as a part.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Hello,
I'm not sure if you can do this but I have multiple orphan meshed .inp models that I would like to combine into 1 model in Abaqus. Any suggestions on how to do this? Currently I have 2 seperate models and would like them to interact with each other.
Thank you
Hello,
I am trying to import an orphan mesh into Abaqus that was meshed using NetGen. It was exported and saved as an Abaqus file (.cae) but when I try to open it in Abaqus there is an error message stating that it is unable to open the model either because the database needs updating or the...
Hi all,
Just looking to see if anyone has experience using TrueGrid as a pre-processor to Abaqus. I'm using CT images for a long bone model where density gradients are of particular importance. The hex meshing in Abaqus is not providing a good mesh and I want to do impact simulations therefore...
Hi All,
I am a relatively new user of Abaqus, so please excuse me if this is a very simplistic question. I have imported the bone geometry into Abaqus (STL file of the surface geometry from CT scans of a bone). I was able to mesh the model in Abaqus and now that I want to apply loads and BC's...
Hello all,
I am relatively new to Abaqus, so please excuse me if this is a simplistic question. I have submitted jobs in the past on more complex models that began to run almost immediately once they were submitted, but were taking too long and therefore were killed. I am trying to now run a...
I am trying to apply loads to the distal end of a whole bone model using ex vivo pressure mapped data. I want to apply multiple loads according to the areas of contact in the joint but am having difficulty selecting sections where I want the load to be applied. Is there a way to select an area...
