NX , Advanced simulation, I need to create a spot weld between two thin shell mesh , with spot weld dia 5 mm.
If I create spot weld using RBE2 , I have stress concentrated near the edge of the spotweld dia..
What is the best method to model this spot weld , to include stiffness coeeff parameter.
I am trying to validate the strength of the component which operates in a certain frequency range. NX Advanced simulation - SOl 103 Response Dynamics is used to do the simulation. Based on the Mode shapes, I am creating the Frequency Response Event. Now the doubt is, where should I input the...
I have already created a macro. But dont want to use Menu→Tools→Macros→Playback→selecting the macro file, to play the macro each time.
Instead, is it possible to create an icon in tool bar and assign the macro to that icon ?
For example, suppose I mark a plane surface of a component a datum feature A and now I do not refer it anywhere on the drawing for marking any tolerance feature. Is that acceptable ?
Requirements :
1. The CAD data is huge, so it is not necessary to link with the drawing , for further process flow.
2. The drawing should be ease to update in future.
Is there any option available ready made in NX teamcenter, keeping these requirements in mind?
Is there any best practice can be...
Switched recently to NX 9 from NX 7.5.
Feeling an advanced interface with so many improvements. But very few feature lags exist, which was not exists in previous versions.
Ex: No option to set customized user role as DEFAULT , in NX 9 but it was available in NX 7.
Likewise what are all some...
I am experience some features lag (user-friendliness) compared to I-deas (I am a previous user of I-deas.
Where should I report suggestions , so that they can be considered in upcoming versions.
Why there is a deviation of results even if I solve a same FE model in NX Nastran and Ideas Model solution solver.
What has to be done to match the results. Are there different types of algorithms used for each solver.
In UG NX , the first mode is about 190.5 HZ. The same FE model is exported...
A plastic component with uniform thickness which purpose is to protection of surroundings.
Is it okay to consider the plastic as linear material and do modal analysis for the shape?
I have a UG 2D drawing with A0 size and I have to convert it into tiff format
Using Windows 7. So, is there any direct method to export tiff file directly from Unigraphics software.
Note: File - Export - Tiff is not giving a quality output. It just gives the screenshot image of the drawing...
Which is the best practice while giving dimensions for a sheet metal bracket.
1. Taking the fixing holes as a reference dimension and dimensioning the other features based on this fixing hole?
2. Taking some other flat surfaces as base reference and dimensioning all other features including the...
I have read some where , that some of the components will be assembled offline and not along with the engine.
What is the term "Offline assembly" mean here.
Why should they assembled offline?
Which module (technique) is recommended to design sheet metal parts, keeping in mind to edit history for future needs.
Sheetmetal module, Solid modeling technique, Surface modeling technique
Does every quantity of rubber hoses undergo various testing process like thermal testing, vibration testing etc.. are only specific quanties per lot will be picked to undergo such tests.
Is there any specific technique called Material Modeling in FEA . What is the scope of this technique. I tried to research this term in google, but only got some Medical papers use this technique in FEA . Nowhere I could get this term defined in detail.
I am working for various sheet metal brackets CAD design for the past few years. I believe i am proficient in designing of sheet metal shapes and strengthening the shapes using FEA techniques. But I Lag some knowledge and wish to learn more what happens after i designed the shape in computer...
Is there any option equivalent to plane cut . I need to perform a plane cut in a assembly which consists of electric wires and plugs.
But, the asembly cut option is not allowing me to select the bodies.
