Is there a tolerance for wall dents on stainless steel pipe and if so, where can I find it and what tools can be used to measure. I have 3" and 4" S/10 A312 TP304/L PIPE with wall dents.
On MSS SP-75 Section 13.5 it talks about Segmentable Elbows. My question is if it is a Spec requirement for ALL High Yield Elbows (LR, 3R, 90 degrees, 45 degrees and 180 grees) to be Segmentable or does the purchaser have to request them to be Segmantable on the Purchase Order. Also is the...
Hello
Is there an ASTM or ASME Specification on how to perform Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Measurements on Carbon, Stainless or Alloy Pipe or Buttweld Fittings? Some kind of Spec that tells you if you find an area on the pipe that is below minimum wall thickness.
I have a 2 1/2" .750 (XXS Wall) SA53/A106 SA106 API5L PSL2 B C X42 beveled end pipe that has a hexed bevel as seen in picture.
The Outside diameter is with in tolerance but I'm not sure if the Inside diameter is. Actual reading I am getting with a caliper on the Outside Diameter are 1.050 1.100...
I have a question. What tools do you use to find the center to end dimension on a 1/2" threaded 90 degree mallable iron fitting, and the correct way to obtain the accurate dimension? Can it be done with a dial caliper? Thanks for the advise in advance.
Can anyone recommend something I can use to grind scratches off stanless steel pipe and where can I get it? Some that won't contaminate stainless steel. Please advise.
Is there some kind of tolerance on diameter of bolt hole. Example on a 4" 150# Flange the dimension given is .750 What would be the +- tolerance. If there is a tolerance, would it be different depending on the size?
I have a couple of questions on MTRs.
On ASTM A234, does it require Hardness Testing to be noted on MTR?
On MTRs I see that ASTM A182 and ASME A182 is noted.
My question is why A182 is noted as ASME Specification.
We have some material test reports for some ASTM A182 stainless steel and others for ASTM A105 carbon steel forgings. Material types are flanges and valves (body and Bonnets). I have a question, is anyone can help on this. My question is if the ASTM revision year is required to be noted on MTR...
