Is there any software dealing only with brittle fracture assessment Level-1 and Level-2 according to API 579?
I have seen Signal FFS but that deals with a number of defects and very expensive.

Is level 1 assessment as per API 579 for brittle fracture applicable to P1 Group 1 & 2 materials only?

At our gas plant, I have seen some pipes connected to the underground drain with flange connections just inches aboveground (3-5"). Is this a good practice for installing pipe risers?
We need to weld a branch connection of 10 mm thick branch pipe to a header of 30 mm. P.No. is 1. Impact test required and PWHT mandatory.
Two PQRs are available with following thickness ranges:
1. 8.5 - 17 mm (without PWHT) impact tested
2. 16 - 48 mm (with PWHT) impact tested
