Q: Is there a big difference between:
1) shorting the source side of the conductors (3 conductors) when doing the hipot and shorting the load side end also, versus

I have a problem with long travel motors of an overhead crane where one of the two motors was rewound after being burnt out. When the motor came back after being rewound, both motors began to draw excessive currents, beyond their full load amps! Any idea where one should look at to solve this...
IDK if this has been asked here. But I'll try it. Has anyone of you guys tried supplying a 3-phase bridge rectifier rated at 380V with single-phase 460V? Theoritically, the DC output will be more or less equal.
