According to MBMA, the vertical deflection of a runway beam should be L/600, but if we have a cantilevered span, is it acceptable to use L/300 for that span?

HEY GUYS,
IS THERE ANY ISSUE WITH WELDING A DOUBLER PLATE USING AN INTERMITTENT WELD (NOT CONTINUOUS).
THIS IS BECAUSE THE SHOP FORGOT TO ADD THE VENT HOLES FOR GALVANIZING, AND WE ARE THINKING OF USING THE INTERMITTENT WELD TO COMPENSATE THAT.
