Hello all. I was wondering what the quickest approach would be to create curves though the center of a series of welded I-beams. I need to do this in order to create a 1D mesh on the FEM/SIM side. I basically need to create a frame of sorts out of lines/curves. Any ideas?
Thanks
For some reason, I can only view one side of a midsurface/sheet in my model. Even after doing a 2D mesh, only one side of the mesh can be viewed. Is there a setting I may have hit by accident to do this? this only happens in the fem/sim.
Thanks

Assume you have a plate with a rigid box attached to it by 4 screws. Using the location of center of mass of the box you place a node or 0d mass there, apply a load or other applied forces (direction doesnt matter). Would you use an rbe2 or rbe3 from the cg to the bolts?

I am currently trying to find a way to display each fastener's maximum force results from my CBUSH elements (Spring-Dashpot Resultant) for several subcases. Is there a way to combine the maximum result values from each subcase into one display?
Thanks

Hello all,
I received multiple .bdf files (one for constraints, one for loads, one for the model etc.) and one .blk file from a FEMAP user and am trying to get the full model to run in NX. Is this possible to do?
Thanks!
I know this is a very vague question, but what 1D element/connection would be best suited for modeling tie-down chains? Obviously chains can not take compression but tension only. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I have two separate FEMS and SIMS that I would like to integrate into one model/assembly. All I have are the FEM and SIM files for each model but would like to create one 'assembly' FEM/SIM that has all the properties associated with it. Is this possible? And if so, how would I go about doing...
I need to model a bolt/pin in a 3D structure. I have been using RBE2 elements using a spider connection with a CBEAM element, however my problem is that if I bolt 2 parts together the bolt in reality should exert a bearing force on the connected parts. However the RBE2 elements will naturally...
Hello, I am new to the forums but have a few years running NX. This is a great place with a wealth of information.
My question is, what would be the optimal connection for two horizontal plates (one with a though hole for the pin/threaded portion and the other on top resting on the pin). The...
