    stress analysis fundamentals

folks, so I have been told by my seniors my fundamentals are weak.. and to an extent I agree with that. I want to get better and increase my stress analysis fundamentals knowledge. Could you guys please advise where I can start? flabel? bruhn? if yall have any pdfs etc.& are willing to share, I...

    Load values are rounded down

How can I prevent FEMAP from rounding down load values? Where is even this option available? Load values applied at the node are correct when I check by clicking on the load and edit. please help

    wing spar strains

anyone knows what FEMAP output vectors to look at for wing spar strains? wingspar is composite.

add multiple elements to multiple groups automatically

Is there a way to automatically add/remove multiple elements from multiple groups automatically, instead of having to go into each group, using the group > elements command and doing it that way? your help is much appreciated. Thanks,

new rigid elements have default color

When I create new rigid elements or CBUSh for that matter, they are displayed in the default 'white' color and not in 'red' color which I have defined. A regenerate also doesnt solve this problem. In the model info pane, i have click or element > by type > right click on rigids > color and OK...

    local mesh refining/updating

Hi All, is it possible to refine/update or remesh a mesh around cutouts without affecting the nodes on the edges of say a rectangular 2D mesh? the nodes at the edges are nicely merged and some nodes at the edges have CBUSH elements defined so I want to keep those nodes undisturbed and only...

    selecting tet10 for solid meshing

Hi All, when we select tet meshing for solid meshing, does it automatically use tet10 elements to mesh the solid or is there some option to select tet10 elements specifically. if that's the case, how do we select tet10 elements for meshing. I tried looking for any drop down list or something in...

Deleting mesh seed from a surface

I defined mesh seeds for a surface and now I would like to delete them. I tried looking for an option to do that but couldn't find it. Anyone knows how to do it? Also, can we use Geometry > solid > cleanup for midsurfaces? Will it get rid of any mesh points that we defined using "remove hole"...

    FEMAP layers vs groups

Hi All, I am trying to understand the difference between using layers and groups. I guess I do understand how they differ e.g. multiple layers can be displayed at a given time vs only one group can be visible at a given time. Also, a layer can only have one entity vs group can have as many...

    midsurfaces do not intersect?

So I imported an STP file in FEMAP, deleted unnecessary solids and then extracted mid surfaces. however, the resulting midsurfaces do not intersect. I tried using the midsurface>intersect command but to no avail. I am curious if 1) it's due to improperly defined "target thickness" 2) original...

Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

Hi, I want to keep the selection order of nodes when I extract results from FEMAP. currently, when I extract results to data table, FEMAP automatically sorts my nodes in ascending order and i do not want that. anyone knows how I can keep my nodal selection order? thanks,

creating a hole on a mesh

I have a model that only has mesh (no geometry). I want to create a hole in one of the panels. my first approach was deleting some elements and to approximate it for a hole but I am sure there's a more accurate way of doing it. My second approach was to create a surface on the mesh, draw a...
