Can anyone explain the designations of heat treatments, specifically for precipitation hardened steels? I recently found a specification for 17-7PH TH1050, which I hadn't seen before. I believe 1050 is the heat treatment temperature. What do the T and H refer to?
In my experience, it is generally accepted that electronic components do not have wear-out failures, so they are not life-limited. (Exceptions would be liquid tantalum capacitors, components with thermally fatigued solder joints, switches, and maybe a few others.) Does anyone know of a reference...
