    Hi, I've got an application with a limited space. I wonder if it isn't against any design rules to weld the butt weld end of a stub-end of a lap joint fitting directly into a socket weld fitting (instead of normal butt weld to a pipe)? This is a 1'' size connection in 700psig steam service...

    Y strainer design

    Hi guys, Could anyone direct me to the correct standard I should use to design a 1'' NPT stainless Y strainer (shell wall thickness) for steam service? From a quick look around it would appear that B16.34 would be the closest match, but would using B31.3 for example be an acceptable approach...
