Probably a dumb question, but why can't I do simple things like trim/unite geometry from a parasolid? I can't even export it to .prt as it won't highlight when I try? Are they technically sheet bodies instead of a solid is that why?

Why is it that certain geometry don't change color even after I apply a color change through the edit object display menus? The layer is not locked, and it's very annoying.
