Probably a dumb question, but why can't I do simple things like trim/unite geometry from a parasolid? I can't even export it to .prt as it won't highlight when I try? Are they technically sheet bodies instead of a solid is that why?

I just read the definitions in the help docs, but fail to see the difference. Can anyone give me an example of when you would use one over the other please?

What's the easiest/best way to accomplish what I'm trying to do here? See pic, All I want to do is take park of the surface geometry, and create a casting riser out of it that ends up in a rounded sphere. I want a smooth transition, from the part surface (the cross) to a sphere. The left is my...
This shouldnt be hard. See attached. All I want to do is have a same diameter cylinder to bridge the gap between the other two cylinders smoothly. I need to keep the same diameter, but have the edges line up when finished. So far Tube and extrude look great coming from one side, but when it hits...
Is it possible for me to add a drawing sheet to an existing .prt file that already has a blueprint? I've already made the drawing sheet and would like to paste it in the existing file, but when I do all the dimension become disassociated (dotted lines). I know this is because those measurements...
Could someone please show me how to get a composite control frame with two separate "characteristics" on each row? See picture:
The Right is what I want, the left is what always happens. The best I can do is two separate single frames stacked on one another, which is time consuming. When I...
For some reason when I got back to my drawing, the dimension I'll define makes no sense. See att. Here, I put a dimension in a place I've already done so. The original measurement was 21 inches, and now the same length is defined as 8.4. I used the same points, and haven't messed with any of the...
I don't see any regional settings that stick. So far I just edit settings individually, OR just inherit each dimension. How can I make two decimal places after the . for example standard for each new dimension? Thanks!! NX 10
The blueprint I'm creating needs to have a line between two datum features, but all I can do is do a linear dimension for the line BUT I don't wan't the distance between the two points displayed. It's not in any of the options to hide the number. I know I can create a curve on the print, but it...
I'm just extruding a rectangle from curves I made. Draft menu everything is greyed out. Must they all lie on one plane? I don't see anywhere the requirements before draft can be used while you extrude. NX 9. Thanks
Why is it that certain geometry don't change color even after I apply a color change through the edit object display menus? The layer is not locked, and it's very annoying. Also, what is the difference between edit object display, and "Assign feature color" in the part navigator? Thanks, first post!
